Wildlife Walk
There was a the good turn out for our walk along the 4.5 mile Swansea Valley Wildlife Circular Walk on Sunday 19th. This walk takes you up the Swansea Canal and down Sustrans Route 43 cycleway back to the Centre. Not surprisingly we didn't see any otters, but we did see a wide range of birds including amongst others goosanders, dippers, tree creepers and a cormorant. Some birds including a wren and robin were so tame that our group of 12 didn't scare them off! There was a chance to do some basic winter tree identification by their buds (not as hard as you might think). The children on the walk (aged from 4 upwards!) were full of curiosity and loved looking down holes imagining what might be living down them. They also were delighted to find out how holly trees are spread!
