The wet field and awful weather forecast have meant we had no choice but to cancel the dogshow.

Stand up Comedy Workshop. It is a joking matter!

8 potential stand up comedians / comediennes took part in a workshop at the Riverside run by local comedian Noel James. Noel, who has supported Jasper Carrot and written for Jimmy Carr put them through their paces with a number of exercises including how to think quickly and gain confidence performing in front of adults. The workshop was quite demanding but thoroughly enjoyed by all that took part. There will be another workshop on the 23rd followed by a live performance on the 15th of May at Ystradgynlais Welfare Hall.

Nordic Walkers visit the Riverside Centre

3 Valleys Nordic Walkers

The 3 Valleys Nordic Walkers stopped by for refreshments after a 4.5 mile walk from the Riverside Centre following the Swansea Valley Wildlife Walk. In Glorious sunshine the group limbered up with sticks flying everywhere. The walk follows the Swansea Canal up to the Nature Reserve at Ynysmeudwy, crossing over the A4067 near Swansea Valley Tyres onto Sustrans Cycle Route 43 which brings you back to the Glantawe Riverside Park in a loop. A cup of tea and a biscuit was just what was needed as they completed the walk in less than 2 hours. 

Easter Craft Activities

Riverside has been absolutely buzzing this Easter with children (and adults too) creating Easter cards, baskets and other Easter creations.

Rumour has that after the first day  an extra flock of sheep (of the cotton wool type) grazed the Water Meadow of the Hermit (which is the meaning of Ynysmeudwy).
